Engraving Picture Frames
Engraving picture frames is much more personally satisfying than just going out and buying the
usual picture frame. By engraving picture frames with whatever images or lettering I can and desire to, I create a
much more personalized and customized gift for others or work of art for my own house. I even get to enjoy the
process of creation rather than merely going shopping.
M
y engraved picture frames allow me to show forth my artistry, my unique style,
and my unique thoughts about someone. I feel like I am even creating some artifact for the future. My engraved
picture frames might be gifts for art connoisseurs or they might just be something for me and my family, such as
being objects that feature engravings of or about my wife or my children. I might make them out of an array of
different materials like wood or metal. I can make single or double frames, and I can make them in many different
shapes and sizes. My picture frames can be used in any room in the house, and if I am making one for someone
specific I can even customize the frame to go perfectly with one particular room's look or other decor.
As far as the different materials that I have worked in, I have made:
* Wrought Iron picture frames
* Wooden picture frames
* Sterling silver picture frames
* Pewter picture frames
* Metal alloy picture frames
* Brass picture frames
I have also made engraved picture frames in numerous different shapes. These have included heart
shapes, ovals, circles, and even customized shapes like butterflies, pets, and specific trees or flowers.
A lot of times, I like to engrave my picture frames with abstract symbols, too. The symbols might
be concrete, or they might just be swirls or shapes. It all depends on the person and the purpose. I love giving
these creations of mine as Christmas presents. It gives me great pleasure to see someone's face light up when
holding the perfect frame for a particular photograph of theirs. Sometimes I also do the photograph myself, and
then include it within its customized frame as a complete gift. I love making presents like this because their
value is beyond just the usual generic gift. They have a far deeper meaning between thepersonalized symbols and the
match between the frame and the photograph.
If you have ever thought about getting people something different as gifts, or if you have been
longing for some creative outlet for yourself, learning this craft is the way to go. There will be a need for some
investment in time and in money for buying the necessary equipment and materials. But if you are looking to give or
do, or even sell, something different, engraving picture frames is the way I suggest you go!
